Freshmen Car request/housing

Hello!

Sorry if this shouldnt be here. I was wondering if someone could take me through the process of having the privilege to have a car with me when I attend UCLA in the fall of 2009. I am being told that there is a separate application I have to fill out after my housing and that having a car can change where I end up dormwise. I am extremely confused and really need some help.

Thank you in advance.

having a car has no relation to where you end up dorming.

you pretty much WONT get parking unless you have a valid excuse like you have a job far enough off campus for enough hours and days per week with a tight schedule that requires you to have a car. details are here: [UCLA - Transportation & Parking](http://www.transportation.ucla.edu)

Check craigslist for parking spots near UCLA. You can get a way better deal for about the same walking distance.

lol i think you heard about CAR, i forgot what it stands for but it is a request to change the assignment of your room (change assigned request?)

^ that makes a lot more sense lol.

Ahaha, that CAR explanation makes alot more sense.

Okay, so…I will NOT be able to get a parking spot as a freshman even when I will be paying and applying for a parking spot?

if you are willing to pay you can get a parking spot in the apartments, but as for parking next to the dorms you can also pay other people for their permits, most likely twice of what UCLA charges… or you can try to do the parking app but most likely you won’t get it…

worth a shot since the app is free. but dont get your hopes up.

if ur a regents scholar u get parking

so most likely I won’t get a spot but it’s better to try correct?

and also, is it hard to find a spot through renting from someone? because I am willing to pay monthly for a spot but I checked on craigslist and saw a bunch of wanted adds rather than sales adds

bumpbumpbumpbump

thanks

You won’t find any postings now. Maybe around June or September when people move into their apartments and don’t need the space…
