Freshmen Dorms

If you need pictures to any of the dorms, here’s a pretty good unofficial guide (on facebook): [The Unofficial Guide to Dorms | Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=40927423567&topic=10720)

It includes links to pictures for almost every freshman dorm, and a link to the floorplans.

goodaysunshin3, no matter how good the lighting is, definitely get a desk lamp or something because your body will cast a shadow on whatever you’re working on. It’s also nice to have a little light if you’re still up while your roommate’s asleep.

Most people don’t have microwaves, and if I remember correctly, Perkins is very good about having a nice kitchen on each floor. However, some people still have their own (like me)- it’s just more convenient, but definitely not a necessity.

As far as the closet question, I’m not all too sure. I think they’re like wardrobes built into the wall? I want to say that they get a lot of closet space over there.

The closets in Perkins are wardrobes, furniture added to the room. I think there are also shelves and maybe even drawers, too. If I recall correctly, you can’t move them around – so you can’t be too creative with how the room is arranged.

I posted this on the Ask a Brown Student thread but figure that it belongs here. Does anyone know if the 100 level rooms in Bronson are vulnerable to water seepage? If so, I want to avoid having anything on the floor that would be really problematic if it got wet…Any thoughts on this?
