What is the best way to fill out the housing form in order to get the best chance to get into Keeney?

1.) Do you smoke or plan to smoke?
2.) Can you sleep with background noise?
3.) My room is typically: 1-5 1=clean 5=messy
4.) Where do you prefer to study? Your room or Elsewhere?
5.) Do you prefer to study with music playing out loud?

haha, i really want to be there. i think being with 600 other freshmen is so awesome. i just dont wanna be in Perkins AT ALL. i wen tto ADOCH and my friend stayed in ther with her friend and it took so long to get there and was so out of the way. The people that live there say that if you get Perkins, try to switch out ASAP

Well, I met some people from Perkins who love it. Yes, they admit it’s far away - but then you become really close to everybody in your residential college and make some really good friends, which is pretty important to a lot of people, especially in freshman year. I visited there and it’s not THAT far - a healthy seven to eight minute walk maybe.

I thought this questionaire is only for matching up roommates, and that we have to do a Lottery to decide on the dorms? (aka the answers to these questions have no effect on what dorm we’re gonna be put in)

At ADOCH i stayed in Andrews. That was by far the nicest dorms ive seen. The room was sooo big! And i saw one of the upperclassmen dorms, which had a common roon and 3 singles attached to it. That was really nice too.

I thought the questionnaire was roommate assignments and that housing assignments are absolutely random with the exception of requesting sub-free or quiet halls. I said i don’t like to study with music on, and i’m a very light sleeper, other than that i’m very loud and can’t wait to party in college so i hope i get Keeney too. Fingers crossed.

The questionnaire is only for assigning roommates. Housing is completely random unless you’ve requested specialty housing or have a disability. It’s very important that you don’t lie on your questionnaire, or you might end up with a roommate you simply cannot live with. A friend of mine fudged the truth a little bit on her questionnaire, and so did her roommate, and guess what? They have completely incompatible living habits and have had a lot of problems as a consequence. So tell the truth!

By the way, Keeney houses about a third of the freshman class, so you are much more likely to end up there than in Perkins (a smaller dorm), particularly if you don’t request sub-free or quiet housing. Don’t worry about it too much and don’t fixate on a particular dorm. People wind up being happy wherever they live.
