I know freshmen don’t get to pick their housing they do get to pick/ask if they want co-ed or traditional. I think co-ed would be a fun way to meet both guys and girls but the only co-ed building (lower cents) seems so isolated from the social life of “the hill.” What are the pros and cons of living in a co-ed floor vs. a traditional floor and in a building far from "the hill"vs. a building like M&M? Btw I’m a girl so also how comfortable is it being a girl on a coed floor? I don’t think it would be a problem but I want to hear other peoples experiences.
Co-ed is the popular choice, but I would actually recommend traditional. I’m in a co-ed hall now and we don’t really mesh that well. Lots of different personalities. Some of my friends are really close with their traditional hallmates. This is just my personal experience. Many people love it, but just my two cents. So for co-ed:
Pros: You get Upper or Lower Cents, which are close to the gym, dining hall, and off-campus parties. Also newer buildings and less people sharing a bathroom.
Cons: Not as cohesive or friendly. Hallcest is the worst and the Cents have slightly smaller rooms.
