I want to ask people who attend UCBerk.

Do you highly recommend the freshmen summer session?

It sounds interesting but I really would like to have this summer off, but will take the session if its worth it.

I didn’t do it, but I know many other students who went to Summer Bridge and absolutely loved it. It’s a really good program but maybe someone who went through it could tell you more.

bump… anyone else? im really curious about this.

BUMP. i would also like to know too. are the classes REALLY intense since they have to cram everything in a matter of couple of weeks?

The non-summer bridge summer session program is a program they are trying to make a bit bigger. In a way, the classes are more intense because they are over a shorter time-frame. But also, its a bit less intense because you are focusing on a class or two.

Though I think the program allows for a less hectic-transition. If you come in the fall, there is the rush of everyone starting and you start with a long semester right away. The summers at Berkeley are way more calm and will probably provide for a smoother and more chill transition.

However, you’ll be perfectly fine starting in the fall too
