Nickel, I feel your pain! nothing here either (acted on 3/29, MA). I'm not only being forced to wait by USC but LMU too!!

do you think they held back decisions to see if they had more room for admits or spring admits?

At least we have a lot of support. ^_^

I think that when you're status says acted upon for a week and you get nothing, you have a right to be very, very angry.

i feel like there are a lot of us who haven't received decisions, which im guessing isn't a good thing...

Yesterday and today there were rejections, so I don't think waiting has anything to do with anything.

it seems like the people who were rejected yesterday and tues had 4/1 status updates... what about those 3/29 people who were left behind?!

I...have no idea. =/

haha what about people's status's who STILL say "in review" (3/27/08)....

I think im the only one! lol

They probably do it to mess with our minds. xD They're getting a kick out of seeing us suffer, so they change our status randomly and see what we come up with.

Nickel,
Have you had a response from the e-mail to your counselor?
GG

Nickel,
We are thinking positively.

I just sent it today, so I probably won't hear back yet. I was hoping today something would show up, but nothing...again. xD

Here's another mom on the Nickel bandwagon. Go go go! I know you have been accepted to other schools. Do you have any faves among them?

Nickel, why don't you call USC? It will show how much you are interested in the school. Sometimes there are problems with the mail. Tell them you haven't heard yet and are concerned that perhaps your package was lost in the mail. You need to make a decision about USC vs. NYU vs. BU. I just suggest you call USC. I hope you hear great news.

Because... >_< I don't do well on phones... My voice gets shaky and I get scared.

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeejected.
status changed on 3/29. i live in arizona.

i was accepted at northwestern and claremont mckenna, which are statistically more selective and also have higher rankings and such. i wanted to go to usc, but i'm not broken up over my rejection. just a little confused. i'm a 2190 SAT, 3.9/4.6 GPA, lots of leadership & ecs, especially in writing, and i wrote some turly heartfelt, perhaps risky, essays. i even thought my quick takes were good.

i've heard a theory that many national merit finalists were rejected because they'd all get the auto-half-tuition. that's alot of $$ usc would have to shell out. i've also heard usc has a bit of tufts syndrome, but i'm really not looking to justify my rejection. usc was the one school that really sucked me into their admissions process (those status updates! gah!). but ultimately, i know i'll be happy wherever i end up. congrats to all accepted, and good wishes for those rejected.

Did you get rejected today?

^^ I agree and the people that answer aren't the nicest in the world :-/

I have the opposite problem with the University of Dallas. =/ They won't stop calling and sometimes it's just like, "Hey do you have any questions?!" I think they know they're my safety. And they talk in a really perky, obsessive way and won't let me say anything. @_@ Then I can never end the conversation, so I politely listen to them for 20 minutes before I wish they'd go away. DX

rejected in norcal
