Correct, I was deferred and didn’t get the email. I emailed Kim Altiere and she got it straightened out for me. If you feel anxious about it, I’d suggest doing the same so you can get the email! Her address is kaltiere at williams dot edu.

So when you called, what did she tell you? I still have my log in information from ED. Do you just use the same again?no sense calling if she is just going to send me an email telling me when to log in. just wondered if anything had changed.

My daughter is a RD applicant, and has not received an e-mail. It seems that she is not the only one. Doesn’t this seem strange? Why would they send it to some and not to all?

If she doesn’t get the e-mail, what does she need to do? Just log in at the Williams Admissions website with a password that she already has (if she kept it) or is there more to it than that?

All you need is the ability to log in and you will be able to check the decision. Here is the exact email

Williams ID: xxxxxxxx

Did anyone receive an e-mail with the subject heading-Admitted Students On-Line Forum? I was psyched at first, but received a follow up e-mail stating that the subject heading was a mistake. Major false alarm.

i got that too spirit76! i wonder if it means anythingg

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope they let the cat out of the bag a little early! Friday afternoon can’t come soon enough.

What was the email really about?

It was the standard notification e-mail with instructions on how to access the web site on Friday afternoon. It made reference to admitted students in the subject header which made it seem like the decision had already been made. The bottom line is that it was inconclusive and we’re all still in the game! Best wishes to all.

Damn…I hope that was inconclusive, because I didn’t get that e-mail. :(

that you have to have created an account when you got your application acknowledgement. Some of you probably did not, and therefore did not get the e-mail. My daughter probably is in that category. Perhaps it can be done between now and Friday. I’m going to suggest that she try.

I created an account months ago, and did not get the email.

Today my best friend got a personalized REJECTION email – or rather, his mother got one about him. I think it’s because he has a sibling at Williams, but in any case it struck me as weird. We were going to check together on Friday but obviously that won’t work too well now.

Well then, perhaps my theory is wrong. I may e-mail them tomorrow and find out what the deal is. I think they’re causing unnecessary stress for kids that are feeling enough already. I don’t think there’s a good reason to send an e-mail to some but not all.

So my D–deferred ED–got the emails today–the ones with the wrong subject line and then the one that corrected it. Yowza, way to make everybody crazy! But interesting, fellow deferred people, that the email did finally come through today. Thanks, Brittany–we didn’t need to contact them, but I appreciate the info! (and I spelled your name right this time!)

Hey Sheepy,

Were you deferred ED as well?

yes i was. it was probably a mistake subject line for the email to all the deferred people :(

It may be for the deferred students because if you look back to the last couple of pages, ALL of the deferred applicants still had not received the email.

Also to put this issue hopefully to rest; I was an early write and I didn’t get the email.

I definitely got that email and was really excited too.
less than two days!!!

tawangwang, were you deferred as well?
