Friend wants me to tutor everything leading up to Calculus...

Ha ha. She asked me to tutor her in Calculus out of the blue. Her excuse was kinda lame, saying that she hated the subject and had to take it in college and was afraid of failing.

totally not posting a useless post in order to bump this up.

Tell her to buy you a theremin.

^ the thought occurred, but it seems kinda weird to ask for that favor. I suppose charging an hourly fee would be the way to go.

My suggestion: heck no

I would either not do it or not charge her at all. Money comes between friends. And as we all know, “Money doesn’t matter, George, people just think it does.” Why ruin a friendship?

Tell her to throw down…

cough

…$10 an hour.

My goodness, we started talking about prices since we’re starting lessons today, and it was terrible.

I mentioned 15 an hour, but she kinda flipped out at how much that was. She thought it would be 15/lesson, a lesson being 2 hours.

I think I’ll just do it for free. I mean I’d rather do it for free than below minimum wage.

I hate the situation I was placed in so badly…

If you’re good at something, never do it for free.

^ Why not?

Why don’t you ask her for volunteer hours, since you’re helping the community by making better/more educated individuals.

^

I’m sorry, but how exactly do you ask your friends for volunteer hours?

OP, this is a perfect opportunity to hookup with your friend. you tutor her in calculus, and she agrees to bang you

^
This.

(word count)

So after our first lesson today, which lasted an hour and 45 min (she was 15 minutes late!, I normally do not tolerate late people, but considering she is my friend…) and our agreement is at $15/hr and she will give me a ride home.

I suppose this is kind of a good deal. Although I feel kinda jipped, as I usually charge 20/hr.

Better to feel jipped than gypped.

No family, no friends in business. If you charge 20 bucks for everyone else, you should charge 20 bucks for everyone.

Is this the same girl that got jealous of you?

Dude, ya gotta bang her…YOU HAVE TO.

Wow, Meadow, you still remember?

Ha ha, no, not the same girl. If it were, it would be a much different story. That girl is much nicer now (probably because I don’t talk to her as much/since we graduated), got into Princeton but still kinda the same.

I’ve seen people get volunteer hours from their parents. So he could probably ask his friends parents.
