from CA to Duke

Do you think that because less people apply from CA to Duke than from other regions that Californians have a slight advantage? I know that this is not the case with almost all other Universities...

no advantage.

"Do you think that because less people apply from CA to Duke than from other regions..."

Prolly not much advantage--admissions just reported that CA is the MOST represented state in applications to Duke this year. (Surpassing perennial #1 NY for the first time.)

Most likely no advantage. I'd imagine that many star Californian applicants would attend Stanford over Duke, which may lead to an ever so slight disadvantage for Californians as the adcom tries to up Duke's yield.

I had no idea that so many people from CA applied to Duke! I'm not sure if anyone from my high school has ever applied, let alone gone there. It's true that most kids in CA would probably go to Stanford over Duke, so that may be a tiny advantage

Do you know how Keystone Staters rank or Ohio? I'm curious... I know New Jersey is pretty far up there at least.
