I was wondering if law school admissions, particularly t14 law schools will downgrade your application significantly if you are a transfer student from a community college? I've spent my first two years at a California community college where I achieved a subpar 3.42 GPA. However, I was able to transfer to a top 30 university and have since maintained a 3.9 GPA, and am set to graduate with about a 3.7, CC included. Will the fact that I attended a CC and achieved relatively low grades while there significantly hurt my chances, or will they note the upward trend in my GPA and disregard my poor performance at CC?

Probably the latter, since your 3.9 at a top 30 university (Berkeley or UCLA?) will be given more weight than your 3.42 at a CC. An upward trend is always better than a downward one.

Yeah, UCLA :)
