From Industrial Engineering to Biomedical

Hello guys,

I have graduated engineering school with Industrial Engineering degree few years ago. However now I am planning to go to grad school in BME for masters degree. I know those two majors cover totally different areas, but I'm really into BME research areas since my company is basically doing those things. So I want to hear what you guys think about that. I am especially interested in developing optics and imaging systems that can be used for patients. Is my IE background going to help on studying and researching in area of BME? If so, how do you think those two different studies would interdisciplinary mixed?

Thanks!

Those two areas diverge in their second years. You’ll likely have to do quite a bit of makeup to get into BME grad school. Also, at least at GT, medical imaging systems is more of an ECE thing than BME (they’re cross-listed with BME but I can guarantee you that the ECE students are the ones getting A’s  ).
