From SAT to ACT?

Hello everyone,

I started studying for the SAT in February of this year. I searched through the deepest threads in college confidential to find the best book and came down to: (Blue Book, Dr. Chung, Erika Meltzer Ultimate Grammar, Direct Hits)… Anyway, I took my first SAT this May and I scored a 1900. I improved in one area but I am positive that I could do better in the other two. I plan to take it again in October (next date for international students). In middle of the fuzz studying for the SAT I did not have time to study for subject tests, and I want to retake the SAT in October. To compensate subject tests and maybe do better than in the SAT I want to take the ACT in September and October. However, I am clueless about this exam. I just know it has a science section and that time is an issue. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how different these two exams are. I spent like 100$ on SAT books and I am not excited about spending the same amount on ACT stuff. I was wondering if anything from the SAT applies to the ACT or will I just have to buy new material. Also, how do you think I am going to be able to manage both tests. I have summer vacations to study. Do you think that it is possible to study for both tests without getting mixed up? Would you recommend to stick to one test only?
Any help is appreciated
