From UCSB to UCB or UCD

Welcome everyone, I am a current freshmen that is still Undeclared at UCSB. My ultimate goal is to transfer from UCSB to UCB since I am already Undeclared. The thing about this is that I want to be an electrical engineer and I don't know if I should just focus on changing into that department at UCSB or focus on transferring to UCB because I think if you decide to transfer and tell the UCSB staff they will deny your request to change into the Engineering department because they think you will not want to be at UCSB. How should I go about this guys?

To apply for transfer, you must declare a major on your UC application. To be competitive for admission, you must complete the major prerequisite requirements for your intended major. This means you have to take the major prerequisite requirements for electrical engineering if you intend to declare that major. I suspect it would be very difficult for you to take those courses without switching into that major at UCSB. For intercampus transfer, you should also complete the lower-division requirements (general education requirements) at UCSB so you can qualify for UC-reciprocity, which will waive you out of the lower-division requirements at Berkeley.
