Frustrated..

So I have a cumulative GPA of 4.1 and have been tutoring for the ACT. I finally took the test and recieved my score. I got a 23. Every practice test I took, I at least got 28 on every section except science. I usually go over a little bit on time, but I have no idea how to improve my speed. Should i try SAT? My family was disappointed, I could tell. They were expecting at least a 26, and the scholarship I wanted requires a 29. So many people that I know, some even failing some classes have scored higher than me. I mean these people make me feel so stupid. School is a priority for me, and they could care less. I've always wanted a private school, low key, and all. Now, my mom is saying that public is the only way to go with this score. I'm devastated. Help!

Definitely try the SAT. Some people do better on one over the other.

And some people just don’t test well, even though they’re geniuses.

And some people find out later that they colored in the bubbles wrong.

It’s just one test.

The first time you take a standardized test like the ACT is always stressful. For some people, the stress drastically affects their score. It certainly doesn’t mean you’re stupid; it just means you need to determine a strategy to not get psyched out by the test.

What you don’t want do, though, is say “okay I just don’t test well” and leave it at that. Because in college, at LEAST half of your grade, and usually much more, will depend on your grades on a handful of tests. If you don’t have a strategy to keep the stress from getting to you, it’s not going to work.

charactercounts-is that a reference to kids from character ?
soryy,couldn’t help it.

Thanks, and is there anything anyone would suggest to help me not stress out at the actual test?

And, no, not a reference lol.
