Frustrationnnn

So I am really tired of waiting...

I applied to UNC early action in October and was deferred in January and now I am waitlisted...ughhh I really just want a definite answer. UNC is in my top 3 choices so ill probably accept the waitlist but honestly I don't know if there really is any hope...

any advice for waitlisted students??

Same. I submitted my application in September. Every day over the Summer of 2010 I refreshed the admissions blog to see if they added the essay topics. The night they came out, I stayed up till 3am writing them. Needless to say, I am extremely committed to UNC. We just have to wait longer and longer. I don’t know what I’m gonna do.

Me too! I’m so tired of waiting…I was hoping to finally get an answer, good or bad, but now I’m stuck in the same place I was in before. We’ll just have to stick it out together, I guess.

Here is some good news … last year, 2256 offered a spot on the wait list. 1114 accepted a spot on the list. 487 of those enrolled.

Pretty good odds, about 1/2 of those who accepted a spot, were admitted. Happened to a girl in my son’s class, and we are OOS.

Are you sure it was enrolled and not just accepted?

carolinahopeful…more than anyone else on this thread, i hope that YOU get off that waitlist. you are just breaking my heart, seriously. i really hope this happens for you.

are you OOS?

carolinahopeful - yes it was admitted … not just accepted. I just rechecked the common data set. Here is the link … http://oira.unc.edu/facts-and-figures/data-summaries-and-publications/common-data-set.html

That also means that more could have been offered - and turned it down, as they had made other plans. So the actual number of “offered” may be higher off the wait list. I believe the offer for the girl we knew didn’t come until May or June - and she had pretty much talked herself out of UNC, and then she ended up there when she got it. But I’m sure it’s hard to keep your options/ and mind open when you are on the wait list.

Good luck!

I’m instate which makes it worse
