FSU; Chances at getting in?

I’m currently a high school senior and was hoping to apply to FSU. Can anyone calculate my chance of getting in?

GPA: 3.1 unweighted, 3.7 weighted, 3.1 FSU calculated (<-where they only count all core courses and languages)
SAT scores: 1830
Gender: Female
Race: Asian
Classes: All honors, AP, and DE
Clubs: AFJROTC (recurring staff positions held), Junior Class President, Senior Women, Green State, AVID Women, Weightlifting, and Marathon High
Senior Schedule: IT class, Guitar, Physics Honors, AP Environmental Science, AFJROTC, Human Growth and Development(DE), Topics in Mathematics(DE), English (DE)

I also plan on doing the optional essay and resume in order to help my SSAR and am a child of military family with a 100% disabled military parent. I also have approximately 140-150 community service hours. My intended major is also Biochemistry.

Another question I have is that online on the registrar.fsu.edu undergraduate admissions page it said that any Dual Enrollment grade below a C/2.0 is “cause for concern, and could prevent the applicant from being admitted to the University, or cause the offer of admission to be rescinded.” I failed my first ENC1101 class (with a D) but am retaking it now, so what I guess I’m asking is how will that harm my chances at getting in? Do they mean that any grade that is a C or below is cause for concern, or only a college GPA of a 2.0 or lower? If I am holding an A in that class by the the time they are looking through applicants will that help my chances? Do I at least qualify for the Summer program if not the Fall program?

Any input is welcome, I’m just crazy nervous that my one screw up may or may not be the deciding point on whether or not I get into my dream school…

Lol…wrong school forum! Please repost in the FSU forum.

A couple of items…

Your FSU calculated GPA should be higher than your unweight GPA, since you took honors, AP and DE classes.

That’s from UF’s website, but FSU likely has the same policy. You may want to apply to the later date (Jan), since at that point you should have your new ENC1101 grade and could include it in the SSAR (I think). Also check with your local CC and determine if they replace your old ENC1101 score on the transcript, if you take it a second time. Remember, the SSAR must match the transcript.

If you do have questions, it never hurts to call or e-mail FSU admissions!

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply! And oops I don’t know why it defaulted to post in the UF thread (unfortunately I can’t edit it now…) I already called but the counselor wasn’t there unfortunately, so I hope they are when I try again.

flip a coin, their acceptance rate is 50 percent, youll prob get in
