FSU Engineering

I am looking for advice /opinions on FSU's enigneering program, Alabama, too. i am aware of the rankings. nothing on FSU. I am a CE/Construction Manager. Have never encountered anyone from FSU's program, lots from Penn State, UF and Auburn. have also heard some very negative issues regarding the sharing of the school of engineering with FAMU. is the program solid and what are the job prospects versus the others listed below?

My son is interested in civil or mechanical, leaning towards civil. So far, he has been accepted at FSU, Alabama, Auburn & Penn State. Waiting on UF & Clemson. Penn State is his #1 choice but money is an issue so it may not be feasible unless scholarships come through. Alabama has offered full tuition waiver and he liked his visit there. Auburn 2/3 waiver. He will be Bright Futures qualified in FL.

if you are looking at engineering, you should stick with Auburn, Penn State, UF, or Clemson. My problem with Florida State is that it shares its engineering college with another school. Another problem is that Florida State is not the top engineering school in the state (behind Florida and Central Florida) so you may not get as many opportunities as you would at UF or UCF. Meanwhile, Auburn, Penn State, UF and Clemson are the top engineering schools in their state so recruiters in-state will be more likely to go there.

I go to Clemson and am majoring in civil engineering, if you have any questions about Clemson, feel free to send me a message!

If he gets in, UF is the obvious choice. Next up would be Auburn with that 2/3 tuition waiver…this should be your back-up if UF falls through.
