FSU Fall 2022 Admission - Class of 2026

We applied for that waiver! What did it say?
DS is at school still. Not sure when he will be here to check if he is in.

Congrats!

DD Accepted Fall 2022. OOS.
International Relations and French. Did not apply for honors. 4.0 weighted GPA, 1370 SAT. IB Diploma Candidate. Varsity Golf 4 years.
Decent ECs with some leadership. Worked PT junior and senior year.
I don’t know if they take legacy status into consideration or not, but both parents are FSU graduates.

S22 admitted OOS with NMF package including OOS tuition waiver, Vires $12000 scholarship , $2000 NM scholarship and honors. It said he would hear about Presidential by a later separate email. They upped the NMF package from last time I’d looked, replacing the $9600 Freshmen Scholarship with the $12,000 Vires, which is nice. NMF, 4.0 UW GPA, 1570 SAT, 2 sport letterman for 3 years.

Unreal. I am an Alum. My daughter got denied.
1410 SAT
4.89 weighted GPA
she attends a special program that is full dual enrollment, so no AP but has over 90 dual enrollment college credits from another Florida university.

Track, Cheer, job

I am sick

It says in a separate letter that is linked to the bottom of the acceptance that she received the Grandparent Waiver.

So sorry to see this. Same thing happened to one of my daughter’s classmates. Makes no sense when her stats are higher than some of the OOS accepted. Florida education is some of the best in the country so they know what they are getting. This whole process this year has been shock and torture. Best of luck to your girl, we have already suffered some harsh decisions as well.

Thanks. Does it say what they give for the waiver? We turned ours in right away - I was the one who called them about a dead link. They were so nice and got back to me to tell me it was open. DS just walked in.

Pathways were not offered today. TCC is not an automatic pathway like the international.

I am shocked–and thrilled–to report that my daughter was accepted! OOS, 4.3 wgpa, 1300 SAT, 12 honors and AP classes, varsity captain, visited in person in October (from NJ), and communicated multiple times with the admissions rep to express interest. I have no idea if any of that helped, but she is over the moon excited. Definitely a top choice for her!

I didn’t even realize the grandparent waiver was something we had to apply for. Was there a score criteria that had to be met?

There are 2 waivers
one is just based on grades and scores, and not whether you have grandparents living in Florida. The grandparent waiver had a lesser score requirement, but there were apparently only 31 available, if I read the information correctly. Here is the link:

Yes, looks like grandparent waiver requires a minimum 1330 SAT or 29 ACT

I doubt anyone OOS got accepted with lower stats than that.

Deleted. I found my answer.

Admitted, OOS with waiver Edit: Fall
3.85UW/4.4W (but 4.2 FSU GPA I think)

OOS Business major

Had heart set on FYA pathway but now will check out Indiana U (pre-business)

For fun, UT-Austin had the same number of apps as FSU last year (66K). However, FSU enrolls 1/3 fewer students (6000 vs. 9000). Now, FSU is projecting to top 75K apps this year. Not sure if UT will have a similar increase. Well done 'Noles.
