Oh gosh this has me so hopeful. My daughter is above those numbers and is OOS. We cannot afford OOS tuition even though the FAFSA says otherwise. Im super hopeful now. Thank you.

Does anyone know if they look at weighted or unweighted gpa?

I believe FSU recalculates GPA based on core classes.

There is information about this on their website. They do recalculate based on core classes. They add 1.0 to AP/IB/ etc. and .5 to honors.
From the Bulletin:

Calculation of High School Academic GPA

Only the academic core subjects will be used in the calculation of the grade point average for admission purposes. We do not use the GPAs listed on the high school transcript or report card. Grades of “C” or better in dual enrollment, AICE, AP, and IB coursework will be weighted and receive one point in the recalculation; grade of “C” or better in honors, pre-AICE, pre-AP, and pre-IB coursework will receive one half point. For repeated courses, we will use all attempts in the recalculation.

Yes, it’s a bit disappointing that Legacy Hall has taken so long to break ground.

In December 2018, it had an “anticipated grand opening in fall 2021.” FSU Development has a different process for making projects public. I’m used to a university having at least 50% of a building project funded before even publicly announcing it. Then they break ground at 75%-80% funded.

I am worried. While I have a 32 on ACT, and a 4.5714 GPA W/3.83 UW, and strong ECs, I got one C in my freshman year of high school for one semester. I am so worried if I will get the OOS waiver. Anyone have ideas?

For context, I got it in my freshman honors spanish class. That one 200pt test costing me this much loss in scholarship money would be a bummer. I have taken over 17 APs in High school too.

You may not get the OOS waiver, but it COULD happen. Either way, you’ll know in just a few hours!

Dual enrollment core classes count… all of AICE IB AP regardless of class count… AP art counts for recalculation,… Dual enrollment ART does not count towards recalculation…
