FSU Football News - Jimbo Fisher Always Wanted FSU Job...

Some FSU football news:

Ultimately, the lure of Alabama and potential big money - or offers to become a head football coach - could not keep Jimbo Fisher away.

Not even a glitch in the serious talks when Florida State officials withdrew an offer to Fisher last Saturday could derail Fisher from arriving in Tallahassee.

"I just think it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up and I'm very, very excited about being here," said Fisher, formally introduced as FSU's new offensive coordinator Friday.

Fisher said he had been leaning strongly toward joining FSU weeks before Monday when the deal became final. Fisher had been linked to head-coaching jobs at Louisiana Tech and UAB as well as other offensive-coordinator jobs - some that apparently would have paid him more than what he accepted at FSU.

"I had some opportunities and ones that I was very flattered by," Fisher said. "I'm tickled to be (here). I don't have another job in mind."

"I want to be the offensive coordinator at Florida State. ... It's as good a job as there is in the country."
