I've been having a really tough time weighing my options. I got in to UMiami, UCF Honors, FSU Honors, and UF, and have pretty much narrowed it down to FSU Honors vs. UF. Both schools sound great but I can't decide where the right fit for me is, where i'll have the best prep for graduate/med school, and where I can obtain the best education.

My main question is, do the perks from the FSU Honors program (early registration for classes, smaller class size, study abroad opportunities, scholarship money, possibly the Med Scholars program, etc..) largely outweigh being just another run of the mill University of Florida freshman?

I'm trying my hardest to come down from the "I can't believe I just got in to UF" high and honestly make a level-headed decision that will be best for ME, but it's tough.
Any suggestions?

My D1 had a similar situation. She qualified for both FSU Honors and UF Honors. She selected FSU due to the research opportunities. It was outstanding for her. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and is now enrolled at FSU med.

Anecdotally speaking - really, there is no question - FSU Honors is far better than UF regular. I'd even put FSU Honors right with or better than UF Honors. When she presented her biochemistry research at UWisconsin-Madison there were no UF undergrad students in her position. In fact, it even appears UF is playing catch-up in this area.

uh no. Obviously not.
I have discussed this decision with dozens of people; teachers, family, friends and people on this forum. I was thanking this one individual for their his/her thoughts.
Thanks for your input.

Congratulations! I was in virtually the same position as you a couple of weeks ago, and I agree in saying that the perks of FSU Honors greatly outweigh the experience of getting a standard undergrad education at UF. Not only will the smaller class sizes be accommodating, but the scholarship opportunities alone make FSU a far superior choice.
