Hey everyone,

Anyone waiting for the march admission decision? I know alot of people applied during early admission.

I applied for early decision and got in. They really aren’t picky about who gets in. As long as you have good grades and decent test scores, you’ll be fine. Hope you get in!

I hope so:) I’d love to go during the summer:)

UF is an option too right now, but FSU I want to go for family reasons.

Hi Smile, congrats for being accepted to UF. I think you are FSU legacy, so crossing my fingers for your March admission. I didn’t read all of your posts, so I’m not sure if your have addressed this before. Why didn’t you apply to FSU for the earlier deadline?

I looked at your stats. The SAT score you posted (1420) as just reading and math, not including writing? If so, that’s a great score and I think that’s enough to get you into the second round of FSU admits. I am puzzled about your ACT score though. You said you got a 22? If that is the case, why even send your ACT scores if you had a 1420/1600 on the SAT? There is a very big discrepancy between your SAT and ACT scores!

I also saw you were deferred at UCF. That just goes to show that this college admission process is so unpredictable!

I also got into UF and UCF, but choosing FSU was the best decision for me. I absolutely love it here and visiting friends at UF last semester convinced me that I made the right choice!

Good luck to you and to making your decision!

GO NOLES!!!

Thanks nolette! yeah the big difference between my tests, i recently retook the ACT. I’m not sure, I’m guessing I was not feeling good the day I took the ACT. I think I remember the classrooms being stuffy and uncomrfortable, and it was just ugggh lol. But i tried. But yea the reading and writing is 1420:) At first I thought it was the score for everything combined, but I learned that I read the paper wrong:/. So it was good on my part. I don’t know why I didn’t apply to early admission. I think at the moment I was so focused on UF. Then as time went by I applied to FSU. I was going to be the rebelious one and not apply there lol, but I decided later that I would. I applied for summer, becasue I really want to start college right after high school ends. I kind of have the feeling of ok high school is ending, I want some change, something new:)… And when I took the test, I automatically put what schools I wanted my scores to go too. So that’s how I sent them lol. And I know uggg, UCF defered me, and now, like many others, I’m waiting for thier decision. It’s kind of crazy but thier req have def. risen.

I hope I make a great decision:) Thank you again!

Smile, what was your combined score for all 3 sections of the SAT (out of 2400)? I don’t know about UF, but FSU will give you credit for an English and a math class for SAT scores in each section, that’s 6 credits toward your liberal studies requirements! What were your individual section scores?

When I went through the admission process last year, I applied to 5 Florida state universities. UCF was by far the worst jerking me around and stalling in giving me an admission decision. First they deferred me, then they offered to waitlist me late spring 2010–I told them to forget it. I never had any intention at all of going there to begin with, but applied there just because…I don’t even remember why I applied there! Too, UCF was the only school that charged parking fee for formal visitor tour of campus. If they treat you like that before they accept you, I’d hate to think how they’d treat you AFTER you became a student there.

I applied to UCF very early because of the rolling admission, just to know I was accepted somewhere. Even though I knew that FSU was the place for me, it felt good to get an offer of admission within a week of them receiving my application.

I can’t understand why UCF treats their potential students so badly. I have friends that also were jerked around by them.

We definitely ended up at the BEST school in Florida! :)

hey smile,

i applied for march. it was a last minute decision, so my essay kind of sucked. i didnt get into UF so im really hoping i’ll get into FSU…

hey smile,

whats it mean if UCF deferred you?

I’m waiting also. I was deferred the first time. It all depends on if I achieved the minimum math requirement (21) on the last ACT. If I did, then super scored I have at least a 23 . Do you think that could get me into the summer term? I also have really good grades and I sent them in my latest dual enrollment grades (4.0) . I do think that If I ended up raising my score they would accept me because I was kind of far off from it on my last ACT and it should show that I worked hard. I hope so, I’m just not sure if I got it.
:/

I think you could get in Maydayparade:) I know it’s just the feeling of “ok when are they going to accept me” is happening. I guess all we can do is wait now:)

docpepper33, it means they didn’t accept me right away. I did send my application in late. I was doubting myself on UF, and FSU, and applied to UCF late. So now I’m waiting. It could be that they have run out of room. My preferred term was summer, and sometimes schools fill up their summer term right away. So that could be a possibility. But right now it’s all about if I get into FSU, and then if i do, it’s which to choose. FSU or UF.

Thanks everyone for the good advice and support! :)

@ Smile what school are you leaning towards ?

Honestly mayday parade, I dont even know. I love UF’s campus, and the people seemed so nice when we visited last april. And then FSU’s campus is beautiful, but I only remember small part of it, but I do remember falling in love with the campus. UCF, is new but it still has great dorms, and it probably has great technology to use for pre vet since it has the new medicine college where , I think, most of the pre health kids go. It’s like, wow 3 awesome schools, and 3 different reasons i want to go to each of them, some personal others like I listed above. It’s just stressful for me right now. I’m waiting for UCF, and I don’t know why I sent the application late, but I did and now I’m paying, ugh. FSU is still a wait also since I applied for the march decision. But I’m hoping I get in. If I don;t get accepted to either than UF it is. But all I can do is wait and see.
