“Science” is a very broad descriptor. Are you doing a biological science, a geoscience, a social science, or what?

You’re going to have to deal with some crappy professors in pretty much any major. For the gen ed courses you’ll probably be able to avoid terrible professors but once you get into the heart of your major and there’s only 1 section of a class that you have to take, you’re going to be stuck with whoever the professor is for that class.

@Pasbal, science because I assume most of us take the same bio & chem classes
As for my major it’s biochem!

My D1 majored in biochem at fsu. She is now an md in a pediatric residency. What do you want to know?

The profs in chemistry are generally excellent; but some may be more research-oriented than others. Your relationship with any will be highly individualistic. You may come to love those your peers find difficult, so don’t be quick to judge.

@parent2noles great! that’s kind of what I wanted, a more research based professor so I can learn more through research. When did your D1 began research?

Before she was accepted she met with several chemistry faculty members and had them as valuable contacts and mentors. This was one reason why she selected FSU over all other schools.
