FSU Seminole Pathways

Hello all,

Several friends and I have been admitted to FSU through the Seminole Pathways program, and are interested in doing the first semester abroad through the FSU Int’l Programs office. Can we anticipate having housing on-campus upon our return to the FSU Tallahassee campus in January of 2019? And would this housing be exclusively for students who participated in the abroad program – or would we be placed in leftover on-campus housing, if there is any. Additionally, if anyone has any information on the program in general, or experiences of what it is like, that would be greatly appreciated.

I respect and understand FSU’s decision to create such a program, however I am just seeking more info on how the return to campus is, what kind of student the First Semester Abroad program attracts, and the quality of the classes at whatever location the student decides to attend is. Congratulations to all accepted students, no matter the term, and best of luck throughout the rest of your college searches!

It’s great you have friends to plan this with all my friends for flat out denied. I plan To give admissions a call next week to get more info on the program and ask many of these same questions you may want to give them a call too I’ll post what I find out here.

My daughter was accepted fall OOS but is considering FYA for tuition break and the experience. It’s nice that FSU has this program she was deferred from our state school and would have been a great option.

Just wanted to add that FSU’s study abroad program is top-notch.

Did you get the answers you were looking for? When I called housing they said it’s really what’s available at that time. I took it as whatever is left over if any. My daughter decided on Southgate campus dorm since it’s great location.

I got the Pathways Program as well, and I can’t help but feel like I am the only one!
Good to hear about other people who got it. I was thinking about going abroad first semester over TCC and all other options… I was thinking the Florence campus, and I’m trying to see if anyone else was thinking the same thing!

My daughter didn’t want to miss out on half of her freshman experience and football season either. She is moving into the dorm with her best friend during summer and picking up a few extra classes at TCC. (FSU Bus also goes to TCC free) Summer C session is suppose to the best !

Congrats on everyone accepted to Spring!!! Go Noles!

My son was accepted to the Pathways and is considering the Valencia program. We were thinking it would be a great opportunity but have been hesitate about how the Pathways students are treated by the school. My son has several other schools he is considering and we need to go back for a second look at the three he is deciding between (UF, FSU, and MD). However, according to admissions, Pathways students are not invited to admitted student days and we can only do the general tour on T/W/Th. Not giving us a very welcoming feeling. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on how Pathways students are treated by the school?

I applied to UF and got the PaCE program, I felt that UF did a better job initially welcoming you as a part of the College over FSU. When I received the Pathways program, they didn’t go above and beyond on my status page like they did for the students who got in for summer and fall. However, I think once you decide on your fall pathway, they will celebrate your decision of admittance more via the packet that will be mailed to you.

Every time I have called FSU admissions, they have made it clear that I AM a Nole. No less of a Nole than a summer or call admitted student! And so is your son if he so chooses to be!

@firstbornga ^

strange!! On the status page my daughter received the pathway than congratulations letter for Spring 2018, with fireworks and video.

Do you know if you are in the Pathways Program, and go to TCC the first semester… can you rush a frat/sorority?
