<p>My dream colleges are FSU and FIU. I live about a 30-35 minute distance from FIU, but I'm more interested in FSU, though it's 7 hours away..</p>
<p>Does anyone on here go to FSU and could probably convince me why it would be better to go there? Does anyone else go to school far from home and how is it like?</p>
<p>FIU is mostly a commuter campus. FSU provides a more traditional college experience where social life, sports, etc. are a big component. Most students at FSU are away from home, too.</p>
<p>Concur with Hanna. Living and adapting to life away from home at college greatly facilitates later leave the nest decisions in life.</p>
<p>I don’t go to school at FSU, but I do know a bit from researching (Applied for fall 2013). I think that academically, FSU is considered much better. To me FIU is more in the next tier with UCF and USF, rather than flagship status like UF and FSU. And as they said; FSU gives a traditional college experience. I personally think it could be always be helpful to get away for a while to grow more independence, but that’s just me.</p>
