FSU vs UF for Political science

I am in the process of applying to college and I know I want to study political science but which of these two schools has a better program. I could care less what USNEWS says, I would like responses from actual students.

Which do you think is better situated for political science?

My God-brother is a polisci major at UF and he likes it a lot. I don’t know how the one at FSU compares though.

FSU tends to be a bit better in Political Science, many of our congressmen come from there. That said, UF does have a good law program, so you might want to switch to UF for your doctorates.

The FSU and UF law programs are rated about the same: [Rankings - Best Law Schools - Graduate Schools - Education - US News and World Report](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-law-schools/rankings/page+3)

2010 Ratings
UF - 51
FSU - 52
Miami - 71

Actually… if you think about it, FSU is located in the state’s capitol. I just checked the polisci page and apparently they have a crapload of internships available.

I just remembered this thread and thought that bit of info might be helpful…

Slight correction - FSU is located in the [state capital](Tallahassee, Florida - Wikipedia); it would not fit in the [Florida State Capitol](Florida State Capitol - Wikipedia) - the old or the new one. ;)

capital* darnit >_<

Thanks for all the help I’m definitely looking more into FSU.

Here is a ranking of global political science programs you may want to review. A bit dated (from 2004) but still useful:

1 - Columbia
2 - Harvard
24 - Florida State
153 - U Florida

UF is the only other Florida school to make the list.
