(Haas ranking: Overall rank, 28; US rank, 13)

But we all know that FT ranking is absurd. You mean to say you still don’t know that up to now?
I’m quite thrilled that LBS is number one. But is it really?

RML, i know you are bitter about Haas and its no. 28 ranking. I know you are bitter that Yale is ranked a top 10 MBA program and higher than Haas.

But the rankings are what they are. Don’t shoot the messenger. :)

Ah, alright, the prestige. For you and FT, LBS is superior to HBS, Wharton and Stanford. For you.

LBS is indeed a top global MBA program. In terms of non-US MBA programs, LBS and INSEAD are clearly the best and should be considered Top 10 programs regardless.

I know you love focusing on that, but the fact of the matter is, Harvard, Wharton, Stanford, LBS, INSEAD = those are globally elite programs.

Why not spend some energy trying to explain Haas’ low ranking, especially since you think they are on par with the M7?

I mean Haas at no. 28. Haas not a top 10 US program. It must make you furious huh?

I am very, very familiar with LBS. I can assure you that I am more knowledgeable about LBS than you are. Having said that, I cannot say LBS is a top 5 business school in the world. A few people I met at LBS haven’t even been accepted at Ross. I can name 7 people - at least - in my class alone who haven’t even been accepted to a school like Ross. How can I rate it top 5 in the world, let alone top 1…

Stop being a child, mate. lol

You don’t know jack about me pal.

That means you have nothing to say when Haas is ranked no. 28 by a major MBA ranking. Sucks for you.

I can assure you that I have more knowledge about LBS than you do. In the same way that you do have more knowledge about the school you attended than I do. And I don’t have to know who you are to say such a thing.

Haas is good and all. But it is not top 1 in the world. Not even top 3 in the world. In reality, there is no business school in the whole universe that is superior to HARVARD business school. Not LBS and certainly not your alma mater business school.

OK, well, let’s agree to disagree about Haas. No need to hijack yet another MBA thread with this nonsense.

What is their methodology?

hijack this thread? Are you kidding me? You’re the one who mentioned Haas, and you continually do. Why do you hate Haas that much?

And, since we’re at it. I can frankly tell you that those schools ranked directly just above Haas aren’t superior business schools to Haas. For example, the Chinese U of HK, Nanyang, Cranfield, Rotterdam, to name a few, are OBVIOUSLY not superior to Haas. Only quite a few people would argue that they’re better than Haas. And I honestly don’t think anyone would rather attend in those schools when admitted at Haas, if cost isn’t an issue. Would you go for Cranfield over Haas, the_prestige?

^^^ please ignore the continued Haas spam. Thank you.

Okay. Just shows that the_prestige hates Haas extremely.
Now back to the FT Ranking topic.

Please notice the ff years the business schools were audited. I don’t exactly know what its means; I suspect it’s the year the schools’ data were collected and used to compared each other.

2010:
Stanford

2009:
INSEAD
Columbia
MIT-Sloan

2008:
Wharton
Dartmouth-Tuck
NYU-Stern
Yale-SOM
Duke-Fuqua
NU-Northwestern

2007:
Berkeley-Haas - 140,478
Chicago-Booth - 151,758

It’s UNFAIR. :D

I’m trying to figure out why, in the first post, the_prestige brings up Haas? He doesn’t appear to do this for other schools. Just being low class?

Just pointing out the fact that Haas wasn’t ranked in the Top 10 amongst US b-schools – despite claims by certain people that it is better or equal to M7 programs.

Do you believe Haas is the #13th ranked business school in the US? If you don’t, why do you use these rankings to create your point?

Mr Payne, nothing in my first post is editorialized. It is simply a factual list of FT’s latest MBA rankings. It is a fact that Haas ranks as the 13th US b-school in the latest FT MBA rankings.

As for my own beliefs, I’ve said it time and time again that by comparison, I believe that Yale SOM is now a Top 10 program and that if I had to choose between going to SOM vs. Haas today, I’d choose SOM.

We all know that. You’ve said that a million times already and it’s tiring and irking, to be honest, listening you say that again and again and again. You love Yale-SOM to the bones. I can sense that even if you won’t have to say it a million times.

As for the FT ranking, Haas’ data were collected 3 years ago. How is that a reliable ranking then? If the data from Haas were fresh from the farm, it would definitely be ranked above Yale, where it rightly belongs. Right the_prestige? ;)
