It's official, the 4/c received full carry on today at lunch! Only 2 days of classes remain.
I'm so proud of the Class of 2009!
Go Bears.

i found that out when i saw a 4/c on AOL Instant Messenger :)

That is awesome! Two days of classes left, wow! I assume they have finals next week. Do they have to stay around until the Firsties graduate then, or are they off to their summer assignments. Also, do you get 3 weeks of summer break like the other Academies?

Finals start Saturday; end next Thursday. Then most kids go on summer assignment. Some have athletic events which will delay summer cruises by a week or so. Some have to go to summer school, which starts in June. They all get three weeks leave in late July-early August.

Taken verbatim from an AIM "away" message.

The good word is:
4/c will no longer be required to square corners, walk in the center of the passageway, or maintain a brace in the cadet barracks.
4/c will no longer be required to march in section to and from military obligations.
4/c will no longer be required to carry their academic supplies in the issued briefcases during the academic day.
4/c may conduct appropriate conversations with each other inside the cadet barracks. 4/c will be permitted to use online services, such as AOL instant messenger and facebook.
4/c will be permitted to store and use DVD's in their rooms.
4/c will be permitted to listen to music using speakers as specified in the cadet regulations.

Life is good if you're a Coastie today! Enjoy & Congrats!! Thats a big "Yay" on the talking part. Wonder how many will forget today and pick up that briefcase and run out the door with it. heh..

Thanks JM on behalf of said Coasties...it seems weird to see ds's screen name pop up on AIM...hopefully he'll remember that exam week is coming up and get it out of his system over the next couple days. Hard to believe the 4/c year is almost over!
