I'm a senior this year! I'm currently applying to colleges and I am becoming increasingly stressed. My GPA is a 3.26; iv'e not taken the SAT's or ACT's yet, but I am this October and December. These are the colleges i'm applying to:
-University of British Columbia
-University of Washington
-University of Oregon
-UCLA
-University of Pennsylvania
-Boston University
My extra-curricular's include:
-Cafe Au Play Volunteer (10, 11, 12)
-Dragon Boats (12)
-YMCA Elementary Arts Coordinator (10)
-Robotics Club (12)
-Outdoor School Student Leader (12)
I'm a full IB student. I'm doing very well, despite the few setbacks in letter grades. This can be explained by the severe familial problems-times in which school couldn't be primarily important- and a non-competitive GPA is the result. My question is: which colleges do I have a chance of getting into? What do I need to do to improve my chances. i assume that I need high scores on the standardized tests, but what should I aim for to increase my chances?
Thank whoever so much for the help! It is my goal to go into research fields involving Biology and Psychology (possibly Medical School). It would bring my mind in a better place to know a little bit more of what I have to do to be considered 'competitive' or have better chances of getting in to the colleges I want too.
P.S- I am an Oregon resident...if that helps at all.
