Hey, does anyone have any ideas for cool yet good GN (general natural science) for a Liberal Arts major who prefers learning about the theory rather than using the math?

I took ASTRO 010 (plus lab so I don't need to take any more labs) first semester which was great (I'd recommend it to non-majors), but I dunno what else to take.

On the schedule of courses, the "non-major" courses that specifically say they're for non-majors currently available for fall 2011 are CHEM 001 - Molecular Science, PHYS 001 - The Science of Physics, SC 200 - Science in Our World: Certainty and Controversy, and ASTRO 140 - Life in the Universe. SC 200 and ASTRO 140 seem kinda neat, but what I'm really interested in learning about is evolution. There are a few evolution classes, but they don't say if they're good for non-majors or not... Is BI SC 002 (Genetics, Ecology, and Evolution) a good one? The number is so low so it seems like it would be, although I also don't want to get stuck in some boring class.

This is the one gen ed category I can’t help you with because I was a science major (I posted a list of other easy gen eds in my “ask me anything” thread, linked below) but if nobody gives you a good answer, I would recommend doing some research using the course schedule to get names of professors, and ratemyprofessors to read people’s comments on the class and professor. In my experience, ratemyprofessors is far more accurate than it should be for a site that takes anonymous comments. It’s never steered me wrong.

Edit: I just realized you’re a current student, so you probably didn’t need a link to the course schedule Still, others may find it helpful.
