Well, I signed up for the Student Search Service to get the hilarious e-mails, and they came. They really did. Anyone got any (please provide context, otherwise it might not be that funny)?

Here are mine:

SMU

Subject line: SMU and You

"[My name], you want a school that has as much to offer as you do. Consider SMU, where academic challenge, leadership opportunities and a dynamic city come together to create a well-rounded college experience. Take a look and imagine the infinite combinations. All were missing is you!"

Context: I'm a Jewish public school student from the northeast who wants anything but somewhere with a Greek scene.

haha, I got mail from Scripps... many times. Even long after I asked to be removed from their mailing list. (I'm a guy, and Scripps is all-female.)

Of all the universities that sent me mail, one that hounded me the most was St. Mary's College of California -- ironic because I'm an ardent atheist, and the last place I'd want to go is a religious school. =p

Not Student Search Service but along those lines...S's guidance counselor did on-line college search for him. Included were Smith and Barnard...worst thing was she gave him the list as is, uncorrected.
