Furman or Dickinson or Gettysburg?

I suggest since you are down to your final three you take the time to visit them all. Spend a day at each. Do the official tour and maybe sit in on a class in your desired major. Then just take the time to hang out. Talk to everyone. The students, the staff, the people working on campus. Get a coffee and hang out in the student union. At the end of this exercise I would be shocked if you didn’t know which one was the best fit for you. Best of luck to you!

Dickinson has a lot of international students, so I think that would help you feel at home there. In general, the school feels strongly about having an international awareness.

We really liked Dickinson when we visited twice, and my daughter just applied there Early Decision. On Dickinson’s website you can find profiles of 2015 and 2016 graduates and see where the econ majors ended up. The other schools you mentioned probably also have information about alumni career outcomes that you could check. But the US News ranking is the one most people here consider, and Dickinson comes out the best if that matters to you. Did you look at Franklin & Marshall? Very similar to Dickinson and Gettysburg.

Re: weather at Dickinson and Gettysburg. They are 27 miles apart; very little if any difference in weather. (I live within 33 miles of both schools). As mentioned before, both are excellent small schools, Gettysburg more Greek than Dickinson. Gettysburg’s best department is history, especially American Civil War history (campus is adjacent to the battlefield). Dickinson has an international focus. I agree that the street running through Dickinson’s campus is, if anything, a very minor issue. This is a main street of a large borough (population ~19000), easily crossable at crosswalks.

I agree the weather at Dickinson and Gettysburg is darn near identical all year round. There is no difference. To talk about more or less humidity or variations in temperatures is false. They enjoy the same weather.

About the road comments… Route 2 runs through the middle of the campus at Williams College. It was a bit of a pain in the neck but you get used to it. Shouldn’t be a deal breaker at an otherwise awesome college.
