Furman vs University of South Carolina Honors College for history major

Good afternoon everyone,

My son is thinking of double-majoring in History/Economics. He has narrowed down to Furman and USC Honors College. He likes big school but he likes Greenville better. He cares about study abroad program a lot. We are Asian Christian family and live in SC. My son is planning to become a history professor later on. We are trying to find the best possible education for him. All scholarship considered, Furman is $2500 more expensive than USA honors. I would appreciate your insight on which one is the better choice so that we can make a better decision. Which school’s history program is better?

Thanks for the help!

I’d recommend Furman given his preferences and aspirations, though U of SC won’t keep him out of a top PhD program.

Thank you for your quick response. He likes Greenville but he thinks Furman is too small compared to USC. He has been hesitating about it.
