Future Tulanians: Let's get to know each other

Haha sorry, I didn’t mean to start up a controversy. I understand your reasoning for admiring him, I’ve just gotten sick of people who are already claiming him to be the best president even though he hasn’t yet taken office [there’s tons of people like that in my school].

I too am happy with his cabinet picks so far. Being pretty moderate, I like that he’s trying the bipartisan thing… I hope it’ll work well!!! As for Hillary, I’m not so sure he really had a choice, either way with the primaries they had I was pretty sure that if either one the presidency the other would get a cabinet position. Part of me is still a little uneasy about Obama, however given the alternative of McCain/Palin, I think it’s definitely the right direction. I think it’s really cool that you two got so involved. I really wish I could, but I’m so terrible at choosing who to support. I feel like I can see both sides and often both canidates plans aren’t really realistic, so I’m always stuck on who I should support. Why can’t I just base it of ideology? That would be so much easier, but I have to make everything complicated and analyze every stupid thing to the point that I’m not sure about either canidate. Ahh, I bother myself haha.

I put Obama as a hero and someone to admire because to me, he is. I took off 4 months of high school to dedicate myself to his campaign and make sure he won my state Ohio. Of course, I don’t think of Obama as the “messiah.” However, his ability to rally and inspire people is something special.

I second the feeling that Hillary was a bad choice. To me, it’s not good.

Oh, and about the pastor thing, I also have issues with him at the inaugaration. However, I think that Obama is trying to reach out to many types of people…

Hey, this is cool. We’re getting to know each other.

Favorite HS class: IB Biology

I won’t know anybody if i do decide to attend, so getting to know some people here would be awesome. i’m about 99% sure i’ll attend. I’m still waiting to here from NYU, which is the only school that i’ve applied to that i’ll consider over Tulane. I doubt i’ll be getting merit aid from there though, at least not nearly as much as i did from Tulane.

It seems a vast majority of pre-med students favorite show is house, myself included.

I wouldn’t worry about not knowing anyone there. Students come from all over, so pretty much everyone else will be in the same boat. I only know two people that are going to tulane and I only live like an hour away from New Orleans.

^ yeah i’m hoping that’s the case. i read that something like 2/3 of the kids at tulane come from > 500 miles away. in my case it’s about 2000 miles  i imagine with the good social life tulane is known for, it won’t be too hard to get to know some people

Haha pinkfal7, I’ll be your friend!!!

Is anyone else planning a visit for the near future?

Should I schedule one now or wait until it gets a bit warmer?

I am thinking about going to visit on the first Honors weekend in March because it coincides with my spring break.

But it stinks that it is a sunday/monday program!

i’ll be visiting over my spring break which will be between march 23 and march 27

pinkfal- i’m going to be there then, as well!

well I didn’t receive any merit scholarships, which I guess isn’t surprising because my application didn’t require an essay.

Is it possible that I receive financial aid or need based aid or whatever even though my father makes a considerable amount of money?
