FYI- Palmer House Hilton/Chicago rates

We stayed on the executive level last March. It was great for us. Don’t forget to check on military discounts if you qualify. We used that rate. Also, some time in the late fall Southwest had a killer flight for us from Seattle, WA. It was cheaper than the hotel. I think it was $190 RT.

It looks like the Palmer House Hilton is now sold-out for Unified dates.

Looking forward to meeting some of you crazy CCers there! LOL

I booked a hotel in the next block. Cheaper, but most importantly free internet and free breakfast! I have to work so I definitely needed the internet. It’s crazy how cheap the flights are, but hey, who goes to Chicago in FEBRUARY?!!!

How is this for neurotic? I booked our reservation for the Palmer House in April! It gets worse…I heard the Almanac predict snow so I re-booked to have the reservation begin on Feb. 1. The upside is the rate had gone down and the total cost of stay with the extra day was less than the original charge. Unfortunately, I am only allowed 3 “personal days” off from work because I’m on a teacher’s contract. My nephew is getting married in May in California soooooooo, my husband is accompanying my son to Chicago. I’ll be sorry not to meet you all. This forum has been an absolute lifesaver, not to mention sanity saver. I will be with my son in NYC, so hopefully I’ll see some of you there.

If any of you use a companion pass on Southwest (wife as husband’s free companion or vice versa), you can change the pass to your son or daughter’s name and they fly free instead. Husband took D to the LA unifieds this way. Then after the madness is over, just change the pass back to the way it was.

If you are a member of Hilton Honors program you might be albe to get free wifi. I just called and asked for it and they gave it to me

I’ll have to check. I joined Hilton Honors. I think the exec level is booked now. I’ll check on that also.
