FYSA (First Year Spring Admission)

S3 accepted to HE for Spring Admit:

New spring admission program

Cornell begins a new admission option this year, the First-Year Spring Admission program. A small number of students were notified March 31 that they had been admitted for entry in January 2016. Cornell anticipates enrolling 125 new students in this inaugural class, as freshmen in the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Arts and Sciences, and Human Ecology; and the School of Hotel Administration.

“During a time when we are turning away tens of thousands of applicants, the First-Year Spring Admission program will allow us to expand access to a Cornell education,” said Locke.

Congratulations! How did you know he got accepted to that specific program? I was waitlisted to SHA and I accepted the waitlist and the FYSA consideration, but I didn’t see anything specific about that in my acceptance letter.

I too was waitlisted to CALS and accepted the waitlist and FYSA consideration, I didn’t think they already admitted students for January 2016

Acceptance letter states:

Very soon, you will receive your official letter of acceptance from us in the mail. We are excited at the prospect of your joining the Cornell community and know that you will make a very positive contribution to the university.

Quick question, is FYSA binding? As in, if I get accepted, must I go? I’m EDing Cornell and this option popped up.

I do not believe FYSA is offered in the ED round. S3 applied ED, and was deferred to the regular round and then offered FYSA.
