<p>If you have already applied and been accepted to a college, they usually count that as an unauthorized enrollment. If you’re planning on applying at the end of the gap year, you’ll have to look at each individual institution’s policy. Many upper-tier institutions either don’t accept them or have a limit on the number of credits.</p>
