Hi, I am currently in senior year of HS and I would love to have a gap year before going to college. I will move to the U.S. in July or August (I am a resident) and I was thinking on having the gap year there and do some internships or volunteer work (maybe in Pennsylvania or California) and I would like to take a few courses in college to raise my GPA. What kind of work should I do? Where can I find job? Is there any program that you should recommend me to apply for?
Make sure you check with potential colleges that is okay that you take some courses…that may make you a transfer (and ineligible for merit scholarships) rather than a freshman.
@bopper do you know any colleges that allow that?
no clue…but what colleges woudl you be interested in? What part of country? how big? what major? rural/urban?
I would recommend looking at a program like Global Citizen Year. they are open to international applicants
