GaTech Fall 2013 transfer

I'm planning on transferring to Georgia Tech next Fall (Civil Engineering), or at least I was... My GPA is just hovering over a 3.0 and I don't know if I have any shot at all. I'm transferring through the RETP program, and I've heard GPA standards aren't as high for us, but I don't know if that's true or not.

This past summer there was a similar thread for the students trying to transfer in (for Spring 2013, i think?) So I thought I'd make one for the Fall 2013 ppl... we're a small group, but if any of you other RETP guys are out there I'd appreciate any kind of advice - whether you've already tried, accepted, denied, or planning to.

What sucks is I was planning on doing really well this past Fall semester but ended up with a B in Calc III - and close enough to an A to make it incredibly agonizing. So unfortunately all that does is dilute my GPA with a 4-hour class.

I've been preparing for this for a year and 1/2 now (though I've been in college longer), and I'm beginning to worry that it's all been for nothing. Obviously there are other schools in GA (SPSU, GaSouthern...) but I can't imagine going there after my mind has been set on Tech for so long.

Anyways I just thought I'd try to start this up since Fall 2013 applications open up in January, maybe we can bounce things off each other.

In the meantime, good luck and keep studying!
