If you're so confident, then good luck getting in and in the future. You obviously have a high opinion of yourself.

Thanks, I have a very high opinion of myself.

One more thing--I'm really not trying to be rude, and since you have given me some advice I will give you a little. I mean a 3.83 uw gpa is pretty good and a 1400 hundred but weak EC's really hurt you at those schools you're looking at. I mean having those stats put you into a "normal" category like everyone else applying. You really have no hook--so while you can in your last years I would start to find your hook otherwise you'll be completely overlooked.

ok...i wouldn't call my ECs weak...not superb, but not really weak...my parents have legacy at bucknell...along with my grandparents. and my gpa is at least .2 higher than the average at those schools. That can cushion "weak" ECs.

good luck laxerdie, you sound like you've got a good chance at colgate. as for me, im just a dumb kid who thought i could get in because my dad's an alumni. jk.....kinda

BTW...when an adcom sees "3.83, 1400" then "3.48, 1200" they can tell who is a stronger student and better off academically. it's a big distinction.

thanks tcolgate--you're the only nice one around here. You'll probably get in--or lots of alumni kids and siblings (me) get waitlisted.

the only one nice? you mean the only one who said you can easily get in. you are a stuck up *****.

yeah but past academically..will this person be somewhere in life? looking beyond books and multiple choice tests. can they succeed in the realy world>?

i'm not stuck up. i wouldn't have argued with you if you hadn't been completely rude online. It sounds like you need a confidence check because you seem pretty insecure.

enough said

lol why am i insecure? Academics make up 75% of admissions processes...you can't get into college by just getting involved. That's just not how it goes. You need some academic ability. You're like the kids at my school who join every club for college and get rejected cuz their grades suck.

I dont know if they'd succeed in the real world. people with great intangibles don't hold national recognition or any of that sort. But we're talking about college. You didn't ask me if you would succeed in life. You asked me if you can get into Colgate. And college weighs heavily your scores and transcripts.

enough said...ha. what you said was a pile of crap. don't mock me.

I know you can't get into college by just being involved but you have to have more than that and you have to spark something in the admissions people. And that's just how it goes. I DON"T JOIN every club for college cause my grades suck. I don't have bad grades. I have a 3.5 3.8 or more weighted at a rigorous school. and I've met with the dean 3 times--one at my school and he keeps commenting how hard it is.bla bla. You are the last person to tell me i am not academicly qualified. You have never met me, you never will, you don't know anything about me except a few numbers. There is more to that. I would have already gotten rejected, and I have already been accepted to 3 good schools. I said you were insecure because you seen unsure of yourself. You try to FIT ME into a CERTAIN mold that I am not apart of. You basically are judging me from a few stats. It seems like you need to shut people down in order to gain confidence, just my thought. but good luck at bucknell-great school.......

it wasn't a pile of crap and i will mock you and say whatever i want to say--don't tell me what to do lolok1214 , whatever the hell that means

lol what the hell? this site...all we can judge on is your stats! I can by no means get to know you. when you ask for help on this site, we only get your grades and other such things. we can't evaluate your personality. you gave me info, i commented. simple. Not everyone needs to spark something. That "spark" doesn't have to be outstanding either. A well rounded kid with a GPA significantly higher than the other applicants has a good shot. some schools go almost completely by stats (large, mainly state schools). You don't have to cure AIDS to get into a good college. and college consist of a mix of "underqualified" people such as scholarship athletes with low credentials, "normal" people, and "outstanding" people. Not everyone needs a gigantic hook, unless you're applying ivy.

It's indian for "i take a squat and sh it on stuck up spoiled little girls."

Yeah exactly my point--"college consists of a mix of people," and a "some schools go almost completely by stats (large mainly state schools." I'm not applying to a small school and i'm not spoiled. sorry i think highly of myself and i go to hard private school and i think i will succeed in life, and sorry i have a life outside of books. I know we base everything by the stats we give but you were rude about it and i'm judging you by the your stats and you seem really uninteresting. kinda boring--nothing beyond that 3.8.

i'm not applying to a large* school

Sorry I don't shave my pubes and paste them to my head. That would be interesting.

Honestly, I can't say that I value your opinion. You cannot take any criticism whatsoever, and in your eyes, no one compares to how great you are. What you say to me means virtually nothing. Consider the fact the almost everyone else on these boards thinks that I stand a good chance at my schools...

I do have a life outside of books. If you want to keep looking up my posts, I don't study...max 30 min. a night, the rest during school.
