**Gates Millennium 2015**

same here @Marrissa‌ . I started Gates over the summer, but until September 26th rolls around, Questbridge has priority.

Does this scholarship have a financial cutoff? Should I just not try at all if my parents earn a gross income of roughly around $220,000. We are also a family of 3, I’m an only child.

@StammyWammy‌ yeah you need to be eligible for the Pell Grant and I doubt you will with that income. Sorry

Questbridge, over. Now it’s a 100% focus on Gates now. I think through the process of writing my Questbridge essays and some application essays, I have some ideas of what to put for my Gates essays. Still haven’t started though :expressionless:

Neither have I. I locked myself out of my GM account & I keep calling the number on the website but I keep getting some recording :-w

Ouch @tetrisfiend‌ . Any luck up til now with your account?

Ouch @tetrisfiend‌ . Any luck up til now with your account?

@emenya A GMS rep gave a presentation at my school & I told her about my problem. She said she’d put me in contact with the HSF people who could help me >:D< Finally!

I feel like such a slacker compared to you guys! I have everything done except most of the essays and just asked my Nominator and Rec.

Can I get some advice regarding question number eight. “Is there anything else you would like to tell us about that may help us evaluate your nomination (i.e., personal characteristics, obstacles you have overcome)?”

My son focused on these 3 attributes and elaborated on them: being competitive, productive, and punctual

@NabintouD For #8, I started with a quote. Then I wrote about my intellectual curiosity regarding the way people perceive things. I basically talked about how this has troubled me, but also made me more open-minded. Additionally, I talked about a personal obstacle I’ve had with a family member. Lastly, I related the two obstacles back to the quote in my conclusion.

Thank you so much @Cfletch‌

Hey all! I won the GMSP award and wanted to pass along some information to help you!

[1] If you have trouble writing the essays, google “GMSP sample essays” (or something like that) and there is a blog out there that posts essays from people who’ve won the GMSP award.
[2] If you want essay feedback, there are many people out there who will do it for free! Look at that blog that I mentioned above, Scholarship Junkies, or other services for free feedback. DO NOT PAY someone to help you! There’s no reason why you should ever pay someone to help you get win a scholarship designed for “low income minorities”!

Im the new guy… When can I apply for the gates-melininum scholarship?

im a junior so can I apply?

@jetpotion‌ no juniors can’t apply

Be sure to join the GMS group on fb as well. <a href=“Gates Millennium Scholarship Applicant Group 2014-2015 | Facebook”>https://www.facebook.com/groups/GatesApplicants/</a></p>

@ScubaMom9026‌ would your son happen to be Scuba Sanchez from Sinton? If so I know him well.

@Jackytang23 - yes sir! Good luck on your gms process. Praying for another local recipient this year. ;)
