I think the 9-10 days thing is only true to Asians living in the East Coast and Hispanics living in the West Coast.

I faxed it on March 14th. I am with APIASF.

Mr. Tang - Yeah. I remember receiving my finalist stuff after everyone on the east coast did. Bah I just hope it come soon!

Yeah we had about 20 people from school apply specially since all of us are eligible for the award, the people that didnt apply are the ones with lower GPA's or the ones that were lazier to apply. 5 became finalists and 1 has received the scholarship. we are a great school and now the district is planning on relocating our site, Can you people from CC please help us and sign the petition for the distric to follow through with this legall, more details on teh site, please and than you Care2 : The Petition Site : Save the home of Lif

any new notifications yet?

guys ... asian from the east coast here. I faxed everything to them on the 26th...still no notification.

Should I switch to panic mode yet?

...and Aubrey, fellow floridian! Where are you going to college?

The 26th was just lsat week, so I wouldn't panic if I were you. People who received notifications were ones who faxed everything in before the 17th or so.

electrequiem, i faxed everything on 26th also...and im from texas...i guess we r going to have to wait for few more days...
let's not panic!

I am seriously worried!!! My mail just came and there was nothing. =( =( =(

Anyone from WA/OR/CA received anything from APIASF?

I'm from WA and I haven't received anything either. I faxed my documents in on the 17th. I really hope I get notification soon so I can decide between colleges. I hate waiting...

There's no need to panic!

Relax!

This was a few posts ago, but the hatred thing, I totally felt it today when news got around that I got into Brown. Some people definitely had sour grapes, and I tried to be diplomatic about it. Didn't ask anyone how things went with them unless they seemed cool about it, only told people about my good news when they asked, and walked on eggshells to make sure no one could even get an impression of smugness from me.

Some classmates hardcore ignored conversing with me.

Destinos - Are you under the APIASF also? I submitted my documents on the 13th, so I'm especially more worried! =( God, I think I just might have a heart attack.

I really understand your situation, Speak_Easy! I've faced the same challenges. It's OK. We still have our true friends.

I don't really mind, but it's times like these you see everyone's true colors.

Congrats on getting into great universities guys! And a big congratulations for those who are scholars!!

Mr. Tang- yes, I am under the APIASF. Woah, you summitted your documents in really early. I didn't even get my mail until the 14th and then I had to wait over weekend for school to start in order to get all the documents from my counselor. I'm really nervous as well, but thinking about it too much will stress me out so I'm going to take advantage of this good weather (it was snowing two days ago and now it's 56 degrees and sunny! haha that's WA for you) and go play tennis or run this stress off lol. I wish us all the best of Luck though! I think we all deserve it! It's kind of strange if you think about it. The decision has probably already been made for our future, but we have to wait for such trivial things as mail to deliver haha.

speak_easy I know what you are saying!

i got into brown and only told my 11th grade english and history teachers (since they were the ones that pushed me to apply).

none of my friends talked about college admits today and i didn't pushed them to.

Destinos - You're right. The decision has probably already been made. There's no need for anyone to panic. We'll just wait and see.

so, no new notifications from APIASF today??

I didn't receive a notification either! (From Arizona submitted on the 14th). I am seriously freaking out. After all of these college rejections, the only thing that will really cheer me up is that big envelope. :(

Guys, I have a problem. So my Fafsa couldn't confirm that I'm a US Citizen so I had to go to the Social Security Office to verify my status. However, I have since resubmitted in my Fafsa and it still can't confirm my citizenship.

I'm kinda freaked out right now because Gates said that's the only way besides sending in my Financial Aid Letter. I don't want to send in my financial aid letters because they provide substantial aid (but not full ride). I'm not sure if it's wise to send them in because they might be reluctant to give it to someone who has more than half the cost covered by the college. What should I do? Should I just send in the FA letters and be done with it?

Hamman: In your situation, I would send out the FA letters. Even if the college gives me a huge amount of aid, there are still costs to be met. As long as the letter shows that you are qualify for the Pell Grant you're fine.

why didn't the social security office confirm ur status? it confirmed mine in 24 hrs! anyways, if i were u, i would send in my FA letters..all they will be looking at is ur citizenship status, they don't have time to go through the whole letter...u know?
Good luck! im still waiting for the 'big envelope'
