<p>I will be a sophomore this upcoming school year at Penn State University, University Park. I'm in the Smeal College of Business, and I did really well my first year by ending up with a 4.0 GPA. I didn't apply to the Schreyer honors college out of high school, but I wanted to know if anybody else applied to the honors college through Penn State's gateway program. How hard is it to get in through the gateway program? Smeal doesn't allow students to apply to the honors college until the end of their sophomore year. Is it worth staying in the honors college for just two years and writing a thesis in two years? Has anyone in Smeal applied to the honors college through the gateway program, and if so, how has your experience been? Is there really any additional benefit when it comes to getting recruited out of Smeal? Would you recommend it? Thanks!</p>
