gay saint louis university

ok everyone i recently just got accepted into saint louis university and it seems like a great school, but i am curious about a few things. i am gay male and i really want to go to a school where i can be myself and not have to lie about my sexuality. i want to meet new people have a great college experience without getting any flak for being who i am. so can someone let me know how is the gay student life at saint louis university? is it friendly? how is the gay life in the city of saint louis and the college's surrounding area? are there great bars and clubs i can go to have fun and enjoy myself? please someone let me know it is super important to me that i go to a place where i can completely be myself 100%.

i’m not gay, but a few of my friends are, and i can tell you i was surprised at how big the gay community was, and how accepted they are by the rest of the student body. They have a big homo-coming on campus every year, but besides that, they all become really good friends through rainbow alliance, and honestly through some of the best parties i’ve been to at the apartments around campus. i know there’s a few bars they go to around the city, but i have no idea how they are, but St. Louis in general is a pretty fun, eclectic, and accepting city, so i wouldn’t worry about that.

Agreed. A bunch of my friends are out and completely happy at SLU. I can add that they go to bars in Saint Louis together all the time, and their stories sound ridiculously fun. As far as the acceptance on campus, I think its really good. The Rainbow Alliance has a campaign called the All of Us campaign that shows how many
Straight Allies
are on campus, while bringing awareness to opportunies for gay/straight solidarity.
