Hey, I'm in the faculty of science and I have credits from my GCE 'A' Levels. However I'm not sure of what courses to register in Minerva. Should I register for the basic freshman science courses as I'm not sure of the courses that synchronize with my Alevel credits.

I took GCE 'A' Level Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and I got B and above for them. Does anyone know what kind of credits I would get? Ive emailed an advisor and she said that I should just register in Minerva early August and then later she would assess em. But then again, I'm not sure of the courses that synchronize with my Alevel credits.

One more thing, did anyone take Singapore Alevels? Because Mcgill wants the Alevel certificate to be sent directly from the exam board. However, theres no such thing in Singapore.

"Mcgill wants the Alevel certificate to be sent directly from the exam board. However, theres no such thing in Singapore. "

Same situation. Can anyone help? I called admissions and she said I'm good to go. But the letter states that they want my official certifying statement sent directly to Mcgill By the Examination Board. Any GCE A level takers out there, pls help!

i'm currently in mcgill and did the a levels. Yes they do want you to send it from the board. It's the only way they will accept your transcript. I sent mine by getting a form from my board (Edexcel) paying 20 pounds i think and providing them McGIll's address (the ARR documentation centre). They got it once the exams were released.

hey, im currently doing gce a levels in england and i just organised to have my results sent from the exam board. it was pretty straightforward as far as i can tell. i have an academic advisor at my school who helped to organise it, all she had to do was notify the exam boards to send the transcripts to mcgills documentation centre address.

i dont know how it works in singapore but mcgill has tons of international students so i'm sure they wouldn't of told you to have your exam results sent to mcgill if it wasn't possible. i know some of the people in my school have been really clueless about applying internationally so i've had to be really vigilent about it. you may find it useful to call mcgill (e-mails seem to take forever to get any response) or to contact your exam boards directly.

and yeah, i've been wondering about going into the three year program at mcgill also but i can't seem to find out whether or not they'd let me do that. i called mcgill a few weeks ago and they told me i'd have to wait until i arrived and talked to an academic advisor before they could make that decision but i've also seen other info saying they accept most a levels as equivilent to enough points to skip freshman year. so confused.

I think I posted the link on another thread already but there's a part about how they want certified copies of your results for places without boards.

hi
i'm sure this has come up a million times -_-

i am doing my a levels at the moment and mcgill wants me to maintain my current level of acadmeic achievement. my predicteds are AAB and i was wondering if i'll have to get these or it's the same system as in the US where you candrop by a grade without a problem and by 2 but it should be avoided.
the website says the minimum is bbc which is a drop for each of my predicteds.

i obviously don't want to drop but i'm kind of getting sick of revising.

hey there, i got predicted all A's and ended up getting AABB and got acceptede no problem. What mcgill is actually looking for is that you maintain anything above a C, which is still considered sufficient, so think of it as an unconditional offer, as long as you don't screw things up badly. Good luck.

all alevel people, make sure when u send certifying statement application, ask cambridge to send a permanent copy of results to mcgill... i had to send mine twice because the first copy, according to bcom office was not authentic :s

there is an application for asking cambridge to send ure results to desired university. email "Elaine Baker" at international@cie.org.uk for details.
