GCE/ISCSE certificates

Hi everyone.

I am applying to US universities to start my undergraduate degree in Business. I have a question and I would be thankful if anyone answers me and guides me. I have done my O-levels from The City School and currently doing my A-levels from there. I heard that we need to attest our GCE/IGCSE certificates before applying to the universities. Can anyone tell me where to get these attested? Inter board (IBCC) Islamabad? British Council? Embassy or Consulate? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi again!

As i said on the other thread, u don’t need to have them attested… altho, IF u still want to have them for ur personal satisfaction, then go ahead, it wont do any harm… but i still think its a waste of your time and money…

as for not having a counselor at your school. u can just ask your headmaster or some teacher to send the forms as one…because, u need someone to send your transcripts etc to the uni if you are using common app…you wont be able to send you application without a counselor…

to summarize -

1) you don’t need to get the certificates attested.

2) you ABSOLUTELY need to have an assigned counselor on your common app, otherwise, you wont be able to submit it… dont worry the universities know that international schools dont have counselors, so even if you have a teacher become your “counselor” it wont matter…

you need 1 counselor and 2 teacher recs…
so that’s 3 teachers in total…
the counselor will send your transcripts, school profile and 1 rec etc…
the other 2 teachers will just send a rec.

You don’t need to get them attested. Your counselor is going to send scanned copies of your transcripts via the portal for teachers on the CommonApp. If, however, a university does not use the CommonApp, and asks you to send them attested hard copies of your transcripts, get your transcripts color photocopied, get them attested (signed and stamped) by your principal, and send them to the university in a sealed envelope (with the school’s stamp on the seal).

Hey Can anyone guide me how to get through the attestation of IGCSE certificates of British Council.
