Ged & a four year College?

I got my GED.I didn't do good in highschool.I left high school my freshmen year. After that I did homeschool and later found out that it wasn't accredited. My homeschool was unorganized and I slacked off since I was just a kid and my parents didn't seem to care. Now I am 18 and I really want to go to college.(A four year college)I have my sights on either a liberal arts college or a performing arts college.Does anyone have any suggestions for my seemingly hopeless situation.:(

btw:I want to do creative writing and piano studies in college, also Philosophy and just general education(maybe the general educaton through online college).

looking at when you posted, my reply seems a little late. It is good you have your GED. How did you score on it? colleges will want to look at the breakdown of the score and will place a lot of emphasis on that. I do not think they will look at your hs transcripts since you have GED. take sats and any other tests for colleges you are looking at and do very well. write a really great essay explaining your circumstances. it wouldn't hurt to get involved in community service, internship to show what you are doing since you are not in school and possibly see if you can take a few classes at a local community college or university. i do not think your situation is "hopeless" at all...those are my suggestions. good luck to you
