Is it true the exams have nothing to do with the lectures usually and you basically just have to memorize the textbook? And what's with the labs? Today I had my first day of it and it had nothing to do with my first two lectures. I noticed Lab 2 had to do with what I learned in the first lectures. Seems a little unorganized to me.

haha all I do is read the book. I dont learn anything in the lectures.

I don’t know what drunkard told you that the “exams have nothing to do with the lectures,” but to answer your question, no, that is far from the truth. Also, you cannot possibly expect to learn everything in the lecture since there is only so much time. Lectures should be regarded not as a learning session, but as a supplementary review session in which you come in already knowing the material beforehand from the book.

Also, the lab is a lab. It doesn’t necessarily have to pertain to the information that is being covered in the lectures.
