general chance please! :D

rising senior, not sure what I want to do but probably mathematics/computer science-related. I think what I consider my weak point is extracurriculars/some other stuff that sets me very far apart

GPA: 3.88 unweighted, my school doesn't weight.
Have 5 Bs - 4 from freshman year in a different school whose english/biology classes were really really tough. At the school I go to right now, most people's courseloads aren't very high so I'm a little better than top 10% in class (again, unweighted).

academic
honors english in 9th - 11th grade
honors biology (9), AP Physics C (10), AP Biology (11), AP Chemistry (11), AP Compsci (11), AP US History (11)
french I, II, III, IV (8th - 11th grades)
didn't take class, but took AP Calc BC and AP Stat exams
left a few out

in senior year, i'll take AP gov, AP English, self-study AP econ, 3 university classes in applied math/computer science

SAT I: math 800, critical reading 760, writing 720
SAT II: math level 2 - 800, chemistry 770, physics 740

extracurricular
tennis outside of school
school tennis team next year
qualified for AIME (American Invitational Math Examination) 9th-11th grade
bronze in USA Math talent search last 2 years
on my state's ARML (<a href="http://arml.com/%5B/url%5D">http://arml.com/</a>) team in 2011, 12, 13
one of 110 went to Canada/USA Mathcamp (mathcamp.org)
USA Computing olympiad (currently in silver division)
Topcoder/Codeforces online programming contests
doing some numerical methods research this summer with a professor

I guess what I'm most worried about are the strength of my extracurriculars (tried to qualify for USA Math olympiad/physics olympiad but nothing stellar yet) but I love what I do. Also, my class rank. I know my course load is a lot heavier than a lot of other people who are ranked above me (I would probably be ranked higher than 10% if weighted :P) but I heard some top colleges like MIT rarely accept people not in top 5%. So am I screwed? :O

does anyone have answer??? bump

Hey, thanks for chancing me!

Your GPA and grades aren’t great, but if you want to go into something math/computer science related, your SAT scores (800s) and Olympiads should help. With schools like MIT, which are reaches for EVERYONE, you never really know. However, since you did qualify for bronze in USA math and USA computing olympiad, I think you have a shot. What other schools are you applying for?
