I just got accepted to the General Studies B.A. divison at Upenn as a transfer applicant for the spring 2006 term.

I had a few questions regarding the school:

What are the disadvantages associated with the general studies program? How much financial aid is given, if any? How do graduates fare in OCI (on campus recruiting) and grad schools, specifically law schools?

By and large there are no disadvantages but you should keep in mind that CGS is set up with the idea that the students are mostly working adults. As a result, the vast majority of your "General Requirement" and elective courses will be evening classes. You pay full tuition for day classes unless they're part of your major program.

As for grad school placements - call the CGS office (you should have a contact name by now). Your advisor can give you the actual facts.
